Hayley is an American performer and actress. Many people recognize her character Erica Goldberg in the comedy The Goldbergs' TV show. She is, however, an avid music fan. It is her first passion. It is something she has been dabbling with since she was nine years old. After she turned 12 years old, the art of music was taken seriously enough, that she started formal training. She began songwriting when she was 13, and she was just 14 when she released her first collection of cover songs. It has been non-stop since then. Orrantia is a native of America, has Hispanic heritage. Although she spoke only English growing up and had not been to Mexico, Orrantia is extremely happy with her Hispanic background. She tries to preserve it by studying Spanish as well as writing songs using the language. 'Hasta Verte' a song she recorded in Spanish is a good example. The summer of 2011, Orrantia auditioned for the premiere season of The X Factor. Orrantia received the X Factor's four "yeses" to the judges at the Seattle live audition stage after getting selected based on her YouTube entry. The first time she auditioned, she was solo however, during "Hollywood Week" she was placed with three other female vocalists to form a trio during the remaining auditions. They were eliminated during the fifth week in the Live performance.
